Apps That Pay You Real Money: How They Work

Apps that pay you real money have become one of the easiest ways to earn from your phone. You don't need experience, a CV or a schedule — just a few spare minutes.

How apps that pay real money work

Advertisers pay to reach new users. Money making apps get paid for delivering those users, then share part of that fee with you.

That's why real money apps can pay you: you're doing something an advertiser already wanted done.

What you get paid for

The most common tasks on apps that pay you real money:

• Testing apps — install a new app and complete a simple action
• Playing games — reach a level or milestone in a mobile game
• Taking surveys — answer questions for market research
• Watching videos — short clips and ads
• Bonus tasks — small extra offers stacked on top

How you get paid

Apps that pay real money usually offer several payout options:

• PayPal cash
• Amazon, Google Play and other gift cards
• Visa prepaid cards

Most apps set a minimum withdrawal amount, so check it before you start — our guide to how and when you get paid covers thresholds and what delays a payout.

How to earn more from money making apps

• Start with app testing offers — they usually pay the most per minute
• Finish what you start, since partial progress rarely pays
• Read the offer terms before installing
• Use one account only, on one device
• Cash out regularly instead of saving up a big balance

Are apps that pay you real money legit?

Legit ones are. Look for clear payout options, a realistic minimum withdrawal, permissions that match what the app does, and reviews from people who cashed out more than once.

Apps that pay you real money won't replace a salary — but for spare minutes you'd spend on your phone anyway, they turn that time into cash and gift cards.
